Snow Day!

This post is for those of you who don't live anywhere near here, and haven't seen the SNOW we got here yesterday! We woke up to several inches of snow everywhere! All schools, and many other places closed down. This was a first for us, in our 4 years of living in Greensboro. Scott actually shoveled our driveway! We took Elaina out in it, briefly, and I thought of how much she will LOVE to play in it when she's older.

I usually always have this verse come to mind, when I see snow:

"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow..." Isaiah 1:18

As the sun reflects off of the snow, it almost hurts your eyes - so bright that it makes our entire house lighter inside - it's so neat! Even the newsreporters were commenting on the beauty of the snow yesterday. What is it about this sight that causes us all to marvel? It's so CLEAN, so PURE, so WHITE! The complete opposite of anything dark or dirty. Friends, this is the amazing truth from God - as dark as our sins are, when God cleanses us with the blood of Christ, we are made white as snow! This is the reality for those of us who have trusted in Christ - what a joy! And if you are weighed down by the weight of your sin, come to Christ, who can cleanse you like this!
